GERALD W. CAIN, 88, OF PHOENIXVILLE Gerald W. Cain, 88, husband of the late Joan M. (Bates) Cain, of Phoenixville, PA died on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at home. Born in Pottstown, PA he was the son of the late George and Mary (McEvoy) Cain. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was self-employed as an upholsterer and woodworker for Gerald W. Cain Custom Upholstry, in Oaks, PA. Gerald was an active member of St. Mary of the Assumption in Phoenixville, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society, led the RCIA program, was a lector and Eucharistic Minister. He was member of the Men of Malvern Retreat League. He also played darts for Manor Chor in Norristown. He loved going to the mountains where he helped build a cabin in Promised Land, PA. He is survived by daughters, Karen, wife of late Peter Rudegeair of Ardmore, PA; Linda, wife of Karl Karmilowicz of Wayne, PA; Diane, wife of Drew Hood of Audubon, PA, and Anita Cain and Keith Bernhard of Audubon, PA; son, Neil, husband of Tonya Cain of Eagleville, PA; nine grandchildren, and brother, Edward Cain of Trooper, PA. He was preceded in death by son, Brian Cain, and brothers, Carrol Cain and Jack Cain. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 212 Dayton Street, Phoenixville, PA at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Old Cemetery in Pottstown. A viewing will be held at the Devlin Rosmos Kepp & Gatcha Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 517 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, on Monday evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday morning from 9 to 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be sent to Food for the Poor, 6401 Lyons Road, Coconut Creek, FL 33073.
