Joseph N. Machion

Joseph N. Machion, 65, of Spring City passed away on Friday April 5, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Mina R. (Genard) Machion to whom he was married to for over 39 years.
Born on March 11, 1948, in Roxborough, he was the son of the late Nicholas J. and Catherine (Mongan) Machion.
Mr. Machion was a graduate of Bishop Kenrick High School, class of 1966. Joseph was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Germany, during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Spring City. He was employed with the former Christian Schmidt Brewing Co. in Norristown and Philadelphia, for more than 20 years.
Then started an apprenticeship and became a journeyman machinist, at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. He was most recently employed as a mail handler with the U.S. Postal Service at the Southeastern/Devon branch.
Mr. Machion loved the outdoors, mountain biking, hunting, and spending time at his second home in Weatherly, Pa.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, wines and lounging in his hammock, with his dog Abby, at his side.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Michael A. Machion of Limerick, Mark J. Machion of Spring City, Laura J. Machion, companion of Nate Strouse of Spring City, and Kenneth W. Ruse of Spring City; his siblings Mary Ralston (Robert), Catherine Widmann (Richard), Ann Terkhanian (Michael) , Steven Machion (Nancy); and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Nicholas J. Machion in 2012.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Wednesday April 10, 2013 at St. Joseph's Church, 3640 Schuylkill Rd. Spring City, Pa 19475, where friends may call for the viewing from 9-10 a.m.
