Michael Chuck Obituary

MICHAEL M. CHUCK SR., 81 Michael M. Chuck Sr., 81, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2013. Born in Phoenixville, PA, he was a son of the late Leon and Veronica (Chapay) Chuck. He resided in Royersford, Spring City, and Schwenksville. Mike was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Spring City, PA. He graduated from the Royersford High School, where he loved to play football, and was named the 1949 "Mr. Touchdown". Later, he joined the Army, Headquarters Co., 2nd Infantry Division. He served in Korea from 1952-1954, and was honorably discharged with many honor medals. Following his service, Mike became a Carpenter, and joined the Carpenters Union #1595 of Conshohocken. He worked all over the Delaware Valley, and then for the Power Plant for 15 years. After retirement, Mike enjoyed dancing, and would travel throughout the senior dances in Montgomery, Chester and Bucks counties up until just this year. Mr. Chuck is survived by two sons, Michael Chuck Jr. of West Virginia and Mark T., husband of Darlene Chuck of Royersford; grandson, Dustin Fitzcharles; stepdaughter, Judy, wife of Robert Umstead of Royersford; one brother, Edward P., husband of Diane Chuck of Gilbertsville; one sister, Eleanor M. Chuck of Royersford; sister-in-law, Anna Chuck of Royersford; one step-granddaughter, Stacey, wife of Doug Stong, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, John, husband of Elizabeth Chuck; Joseph, husband of Kathryn Chuck, and George, Peter, and Julius Chuck, and sisters, Mary, wife of Domonic DiCesare, and Helen, wife of Joseph Manion. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Donato P. Silveri. Burial will follow in the Fernwood Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 10-11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered in Mike's name to the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3640 Schuylkill Road, Spring City, PA 19475.
