OSCAR P. LANUTE, JR., 67, FORMERLY OF PHOENIXVILLE Oscar P. "Phil" Lanute, Jr., age 67, of Wernersville, died on Monday, July 29, 2013 at his home. He was the husband of the late Mary Ann (Reichenbach) Lanute. Born in Phoenixville, he was the son of the late Oscar P. Lanute, Sr. and Miriam (Walker) Lanute. Phil was a graduate of Owen J. Roberts High School. He was a driver for Matthews International Casket Division, retiring in 2012. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp as Sergeant from 1964 -67 during the Vietnam War with the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Division. He is survived by his son, Edward Kelly, husband of Melanie Kelly of Leola, PA; one daughter, Helene M. Moyer of Pottstown; one brother, David Lanute, husband of Beth of Exton; two sisters, Dawn Fries of Pottstown, and Barbara Evans, wife of James Evans of Spring City; four grandchildren, Joseph Moyer, husband of Jessica of Vero Beach, FL; Justin Levengood, fianc of Rachyl Lawrence Lenhardt of Fort Pierce, FL; Ryan Moyer of Birdsboro and Kacey L. Levengood of Fort Pierce, FL; three great grandchildren, Andrew, Jaxson and Colby. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte Street, Pottstown. Pastor Raymond Evans will officiate. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 and from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown.
