Richard Keen Obituary

RICHARD ARTHUR KEEN, 82, OF WEST CHESTER Richard Arthur Keen, 82, of West Chester, PA on July 20, 2013 at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester. He was born Aug. 23, 1930 in Norristown to Henry Keen and Laura Johnson Keen. He married Edith Pierce (nee Yeager) on May 27, 1982 and she survived along with 8 children, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Children from his previous marriage include Margaret (Keen) Loehr, Merrill Keen, Jonathan Keen and Suzanne (Keen) Garrison; also William Pierce IV, Robert Pierce, David Pierce and Kitty (Pierce) Tomlison. Richard grew up in Pottstown and graduated from Pottstown H.S. He served in the U.S. Army (Reconniassance), graduated from Penn State with an Industrial Engineering degree. He also earned his law degree from Temple University. He worked at Sandia Corp. in New Mexico. He was a longtime employee and retired from General Electric. He then worked for Lockheed Martin and Martin Marietta after his retirement. He loved golf, spending his time at Hershey's Mill Golf Course. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. with service immediately following on Friday, July 26, in the Frank C. Videon Funeral Home, Sproul & Lawrence Rds., Broomall. Memorial contributions may be made to Neighborhood Hospice, 400 E. Marshall St., West Chester, PA 19380.
