ANN LOUISE GUMPERT, 83, OF UNION TWP. Ann Louise (Boyer) Gumpert, 83, of Union Twp., Berks Co., PA, died Sept. 6, 2013 at the Berkshire Commons, Exeter Twp., Berks Co., PA. She was the widow of Randall P. Gumpert who died Nov. 25, 2008. Born in Longswamp, PA on December 23, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Harry G. and Helen M. (Fenstermacher) Boyer. Mrs. Gumpert taught first grade for the Pottstown School District in 1951 and then taught first grade and kindergarten for the Daniel Boone School District from 1962 until retiring in 1993. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Birdsboro, PA and the OES, East Penn Chapter #336. She was a member of the graduating class of 1947 from Kutztown High School; she was a member of the graduating class of 1951 from the former Kutztown State Teachers College, attended Pepperdine University, Los Angeles, CA in 1953 and attended Millersville State College 1978 and 1980. A memorial service will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 5 Brooke Manor, Birdsboro, PA 19508 on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 11 a.m. The visitation will be from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the church. Mrs. Gumpert is survived by two sons, Michael R., husband of Margaret Gumpert of Douglassville, PA; Jeffrey S., husband of Suzanne Gumpert of Myerstown, PA; one daughter, Cynthia B., wife of Jeffrey Knauer of New Holland, PA; three sisters, Janet E., widow of Gerald Petro of Canton, OH; Sue M., wife of Larry Hertzog of Columbus, OH; Mary L., wife of Lewis Christman of Fleetwood, PA; four grandchildren, Jonathan A., husband of Amie (Schaadt) Knauer of Philadelphia, PA; Dr. Whitney Knauer of St. Paul, Minnesota; Emily Gumpert of Reading, PA and Scott Gumpert of Altoona, PA. She was predeceased by a sister Lois B. Toth and a brother Willis G. Boyer. Contributions may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. Dengler Funeral Home, Inc., Birdsboro, PA is in charge of the arrangements.
