ARLENE J. MEST, POTTSTOWN Arlene J. (Miller) Mest, of Pottsown, died in the Reading Hospital on March 13, 2012 after a lengthy illness, just one day prior to her late husband's birthday and three days prior to their wedding anniversary. She was born at home in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, on July 1, 1936 and attended the Pottstown High School in the early 1950's. She was the First Drum Majorette of the late Band Director William Schinstine. She previously worked years ago at Food Fair/Pantry Pride supermarket, Zern's Farmer's Market (Gilbertsville Sales Stables), and was primarily a homemaker. She was the wife of the late Ronald B. Mest Sr. and is survived by her children, Kenneth D. of Pottstown, Richard A. of Charlestown, Ronald Jr. of Douglassville, Marc J. of Longneck, Delaware, and grandmother of five grandchildren Ryan, Justin, Kyle, Veronica, and Hailey. She is survived by one sister Betty Showers of Sanatoga and was predeceased by sisters Katherine Urban, Marion Confino, Alma Kissinger, and Dorothy Miller. A memorial service will be held at Zion's UCC, Hanover and Chestnut streets, Pottstown, Sunday, March 25th at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her name to Lehigh Valley Health Network.
