BERNARD "BEN" LIBERATORI, 81, OF STOWE Bernard "Ben" Liberatori, 81, of Stowe, formerly of Morea, PA, Brooklyn, NY, and Trenton, NJ, husband of the late Marie (DeNicco) Liberatori of 53 years passed away suddenly on Tuesday, All Saint's Day. Born in Morea, he was the son of the late Bernardo and Rose (DeNick) Liberatori. Bernard was an amateur musician, playing the saxophone and clarinet in the Pottstown Community Spirit Band and the Pottsgrove Community Band where he played up until last spring. He was a lifetime member of the Stowe Lion's Club, the Knights of Columbus, and St. Gabriel's Lodge in Stowe, as well as an active member at St. Columbkill and St. Gabriel's Parishes. Ben was a devout Catholic who often visited the Padre Pio shrine. He enjoyed spending time with his six grandchildren and watching them sing, play instruments and perform. Through his three step-grandsons, he became an avid Phillies fan late in life. Surviving are daughters, Sandra M. Liberatori, wife of Eric Steckerl, of Collegeville; Kathleen L. Blystone, of North Carolina, and LuAnn E. Liberatori, wife of Michael Capinski, of Stowe; grandchildren, Sarabeth and Amanda Steckerl, Michelle Blystone-Holland, wife of Ethan, and Kristin Blystone, Gabrielle and Ben Davidheiser; step-grandchildren, Josh, Ryan, and Jason Capinski; brother, Retired Lieutenant Colonel Francis Liberatori, husband of Ann, and many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and nieces and nephews. Along with his parents and wife, Bernard is predeceased by a son-in-law, Barry Blystone, and granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth; brother, Anthony C. Liberatori and his wife, Ida, and a sister, Maybelline Syers and her husband, Don, and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. A funeral service will be celebrated Monday, 11 a.m. at St. Columbkill Roman Catholic Church, Boyertown, with Fr. Marty Kern officiating along with Bernard's cousin, Fr. Dennis Apoldite. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown. Visitation will be held Sunday from 6:30-7:45 p.m. at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin St., Pottstown and Monday 10:15-10:45 a.m. at St. Columbkill Roman Catholic Church, 200 Indian Spring Road, Boyertown, PA 19512.
