Betty Ruth Frey, 88, formerly of Ruscombmanor Township, lastly of the Lutheran Home at Topton, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012 in St. Joseph Medical Center, where she was a patient.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin H. Frey on March 28, 1990.
Born in Fleetwood, she was a daughter of the late C. LeRoy and Kathryn (Adam) Stahler.
She was a 1942 graduate of Fleetwood High School and between graduation and getting married in 1946, she attended trade school, worked as a secretary for Arrow Shirts and then was a Quality Control Inspector for the Red Cheek processing plant in Fleetwood.
She was a member of St. John's (Pricetown) U.C.C. Church where she was an avid quilter and participated weekly for many years with the church quilters until her illness. She also loved covered bridges and collected anything related to them.
She is survived by her children: Susan B. Grill of Amhurst, N.Y.; Helen K. Drabeck of Palmer, Alaska, Alice A. Smith of Washington, D.C.; Edwin D. Frey and wife Barbara of Ruscombmanor Townshipand Edith M., wife of John Sayer of Northfield, VT. She is also survived by her daughter in law Carol A., widow of William R. Frey of Oley, a sister: Jean Hinkle of Reading and 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and son, she was predeceased by a sister Dorothy M. Snyder.
Services will be held in Blankenbiller Funeral Home, 423 Main Street, Oley, on Friday, Oct. 12, at 2 p.m. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Rockland Township. Friends and family may view on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to St. John's U.C.C., 3713 Pricetown Road, Fleetwood, Pa. 19522.
