CHRISTINA C. FANARO, 89, OF UPPER PROVIDENCE Christina C. (Scotti) Fanaro, 89, formerly of Trappe and Lower Providence Twp., died Monday in the arms of her loving daughter, at Parkhouse, Providence Pointe, Upper Providence Twp. For 46 years she was the devoted wife of Anthony A. Fanaro who died in 1988. Tina was born on December 25, 1922, in Norristown. She was a daughter of the late Generoso and Josephine (Giannone) Scotti. In addition to being a homemaker, Tina was a buyer and sales clerk at the former Fanaro Brothers Store, Lower Providence Twp. Tina was an active member of St. Eleanor Catholic Church for 67 years, where she was a member of the St. Eleanor Women's Auxiliary and was an aid to Sr. Mary Augusta, a former director of CCD classes at St. Eleanor School. She also was a 30-year member of the Keystone Grange #2 in Trappe. Tina was a staunch supporter of her husband's long time membership in the Collegeville Lions Club. As a Lioness, she and Tony hosted the club's annual clambakes, worked for many fund raisers, and participated in Lions conventions. During her later years, her membership in the Bridgeport Parents Without Partners gave her friends who allowed her to express her love for singing and dancing. Tina enjoyed hosting her family and her Cousins Club at her country home with pool parties. She left a legacy of faith and love of family and friends to her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she passionately loved. Tina is survived by her daughter, Concetta D. "Connie," wife of Robert R. Peck, Trappe, her grandchildren, Robert A. husband of Cheryl (Barhydt) Peck, Denise (Peck), wife of Randall Cope, Richard, husband of Jennifer (Bernhard) Fanaro, Kimberly (Fanaro), wife of Paul Wade, and Kristen (Fanaro), wife of Michael Tyson; her great-grandchildren, Amaura and Laina Cope, Mason and Connor Peck, Michael and Timothy John "T J" Eckert, Asca Reid, and Gina, and Eric Modugno; her sister Loretta Falco; her sisters-in-laws, Rose Scotti and Daisy Harley; her brother-in-law, Michael Fanaro, and many nieces and nephews. Tina was preceded in death by her son, David P. Fanaro; her sisters, Filomena "Minnie" Vernacchio, Rose Picharcue, Dolores Vuotto; and her brothers Joseph, Anthony, Carmen, Michael, William, Gennaro "Ginger", and Philip Scotti. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at St. Eleanor Catholic Church, 6th Ave. & Locust St., Collegeville. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, E. Norriton Twp. Friends may call from 9 to 10:15 a.m., Saturday, at church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Eleanor Catholic Church, 647 Locust St., Collegeville, PA 19426; Parkhouse Resident Fund, 1600 Black Rock Rd., Royersford, PA 19468; or the ., Suite 102, 399 Market St., Philadelphia, PA 19106.
