Obituary Condolences

DALE E. BIEVER, 75, OF BOYERTOWN Dale E. Biever, 75, of Boyertown, husband of Catherine (Keller) Biever, passed away on Sunday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center after a long battle with cancer. Born in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Mildred (Fisher) Biever. Dale served in the military with the PA National Guard in the early 1960's. He was a respected teacher of Social Studies in the Boyertown Area High School until his retirement in 1993. Dale was involved in many endeavors including Registrar of the Civil War Library and Museum in Philadelphia, also contributions of archeological discoveries at the Ephrata Cloisters. Dale was chosen to receive the Distinguished Fellow Service Award by The Company of Military Historians in 2004. He also served with pride as an active member of the Boyertown Civil Air Patrol. Surviving with his wife of 53 years are two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Lt. Col. Scott Biever. A memorial service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at New Hanover United Methodist Church, 2211 Swamp Pike, Gilbertsville, PA 19525, with Pastors David Lewis and Gil Vining officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dale's name to the New Hanover United Methodist Church at the above address. Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 1020 E.
