DAVID GEORGE DABBACK JR., 88, OF FORT MYERS, FL David George Dabback Jr. passed away in his residence in Fort Myers, FL, on October 30, 2011. He was 88 years old, born in West Chester, on March 25, 1923 to David G. and Ruth (Haws) Dabback. David was a 1942 graduate of Spring City High School, Spring City, and inducted into the U.S. Navy in 1943, where he honorably served until discharged in 1945. He attended West Chester Teachers College and graduated in 1950 with a degree in education. He retired as a Personnel Director for Paper Manufacturers in 1987. In 1952 David wed Charlotte Oakford. They were married 45 years, until her death in 1997. He was a pilot and enjoyed recreational flying. David married Genevieve Robinson in 1999 and in recent years they spent summers in Paoli and winters in Fort Myers, FL. In the past, David was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Phoenixville where he served as a Trustee and Elder. In recent years, he had been a member of the Great Valley Presbyterian Church in Malvern where he served as a Trustee. He is survived by his wife, Genevieve; a daughter, Ellen, wife of Frederick A. Bowen III; a son, Donald O. Dabback, and step-daughters, Amy Sparkes and Meg Werner. He has five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one step-great-grandchild. One of six children, David is also survived by three siblings, Dr. Dewitt Dabback, Margret Funk and Ruth Ann Dabback, all residents of Pennsylvania. A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 3, at 1:15 p.m. at the Village Church Chapel in Shell Point Retirement Community. Funeral services and interment will be held at the Great Valley Presbyterian Church, Malvern, on Monday, November 7. Friends and relatives are invited to attend David's viewing at 10:15 a.m., followed by the services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Daniel R. Stewart officiating.
