Obituary Condolences

DAVID HERMAN HARP, 64, OF POTTSTOWN David Herman Harp, 64, of Pottstown, passed away in his home surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, December 24, 2011. David was born on June 28, 1947, in Pottstown. He was the son of the late Herman and Catherine (Schutz) Harp. Before his retirement, David was employed by the United States Post Office, in Devon as a Mail Handler for over 20 years, Barto Pool Service, and Firestone. He served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of the Owen J. Roberts class of 1965. David was an avid bicyclist. He enjoyed spending his time cutting wood, building decks, fishing, and watching the Eagles game at his outdoor shed. He was a generous and loving man always willing to lend a hand to family and friends. David was a life member of the Pottstown Quoit Club and Lil Brothers Inc. David is survived by his wife, Mary Jane (Schurr) Harp; his "three girls", Denice, wife of Ty Hunsberger of Pottstown; Brenda, wife of Scott Lessig of Bath, and Kimberly Harp of Pottstown, and three stepchildren, Rebecca Showers, Jeffrey Wilson and Michael Seiple, all of Pottstown. He is also survived by a brother, Michael Harp, Pottstown, and four grandchildren, Tyler, Nicholas, Ciera and Jeffrey. In addition, he shared his love with a nephew and many other friends and relatives. He was predeceased by a brother, Dennis Harp. A private gathering will be held by the family. Memorial donations may be made in David's honor to the Disabled American Veterans - Chapter 25, Attention: Commander Frank Desimone, PO Box 76, Creamery, Pennsylvania, 19430-0076.
