Obituary Condolences

DONALD E. WEIDNER, 73, OF GILBERTSVILLE Donald E. Weidner, 73, widower of Anna E. (Downer) Weidner of Gilbertsville, formerly of Walnut Woods and Pine Forge, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2011 in the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Boyertown he was the son of the late Ida (Miller) and James Weidner. Donald worked at the former Unger Orchard as an Orchard Man for many years, last working as a Drill Press Operator at Spring City Lighting. He was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church, New Berlinville; Pikeville Sportsmen's Association and the Democratic Club. Donald loved hunting and fishing. He is survived by three daughters, Brenda Bright of Boyertown; Alice L. Weidner, companion of Janet Lubon of Barto, and Cathy Jo Weidner of Reading; a son, Donald J. Weidner; a brother, Harold Weidner of Berks Heim; two sisters, Marian Leh of Boyertown, and Edith Weidner of Norristown; a companion, Ellen Hanson of Pottstown, and a grandson, Logan MacDonald, husband of Sara of Bethlehem. He was predeceased by two brothers, Carl and James Weidner. Memorial services will be 11 a.m., Friday, September 30, 2011 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 611 Swamp Creek Road, New Berlinville. The Reverend Robb Faller will officiate. Relatives and friends will be received Friday between 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. at the church. Inurnment will be in St. Andrew United Methodist Church Cemetery, New Berlinville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Foundation, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312. Arrangements are being handled by the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Inc., 111 North Reading Avenue, Boyertown.
