Obituary Condolences

DOROTHY McMASTER, 88, OF PHOENIXVILLE Dorothy (Thompson) McMaster, 88, wife of the late Joseph D. McMaster, of Phoenixville, died Monday, October 3, 2011 in the Coatesville Veterans Medical Center, Coatesville. Born in Oxford, MD, she was the daughter of the late John L. Thompson, Sr. and the late Gertrude H. (Morris) Thompson. Mrs. McMaster worked as a registered nurse for Phoenixville Hospital. She served in the United States Army during World War Two, as a 2nd Lt. Army Nurse. Mrs. McMaster was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Phoenixville. She served as a Service Unit Director for the Freedom Valley Girl Scouts. Surviving are two sons, Joseph L. "Larry" McMaster, husband of Jennifer, Phoenixville, and Peter M. McMaster, husband of Maureen, Cranston, RI; three daughters, Jill C. Vonter, Phoenixville; Kimberly J. Ulisny, wife of Robert, Phoenixville, and Bronwyn E. McMaster, Wilmington, DE; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and three great -great-grandchildren; one brother, and one sister. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Joan Mahoney, and three brothers. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday October 8, 2011 in Oxford Cemetery, Oxford, MD. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to Coatesville VA Medical Center, Attn: Voluntary Services, 1400 Blackhorse Hill Road, Coatesville, PA 19320.
