E. ALICE CRESS, 80, OF PHOENIXVILLE E. Alice (Rumpf) Cress, 80, wife of the late C. Robert Cress, of Phoenixville, PA, died on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at her daughter's home. Born in Locust Gap, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jacob E. and Clara A. (Shipp) Rumpf. Alice was an accomplished seamstress and was employed in a variety of areas in the garment industry before and after her marriage. She also enjoyed sewing for her family. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Phoenixville, participating in the the Bible Study Group, and, when she was no longer physically able to attend services she continued to be a part of the prayer chain and scheduling Greeter's for Sunday services. Surviving are one daughter: Ann, wife of Robert Kunsch, Jr. of Douglassville, three sons: Robert Cress and his wife Toni of Jeffersonville, Jack Cress of Fishers, IN; and Michael Cress and his wife Cheryl of Phoenixville; 15 grandchildren: April Steinbacher, Laura Miner, Sherri Perez-Rodriquez, Robert Cress, Jr., Megan, Kelly, John and Andrew Cress, Angela Patterson, Michelle, Michael and Patricia Cress, Aimee, Ashley and Josh Dero. There are nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved dog "Abby". She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Angelina and Brothers, Arthur Rumpf and William Rumpf. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service in First United Methodist Church, 865 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA, on Monday, June 25, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Phoenixville. A viewing will be held in the Devlin Rosmos Kepp & Gatcha Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 517 S. Main Street at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville, on Sunday, June 24, 2012 from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and on Monday morning at the church from 10 to 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name may be made to Visiting Nursing Association of Pottstown and Vicinity, 1963 E.
