Obituary Condolences

EDWARD G. GASPAR, FORMERLY OF PHILADELPHIA Edward G. Gaspar, formerly of Philadelphia, died on July 15, 2012, at Parkhouse Providence Pointe where he was a resident. Mr. Gaspar was born in Philadelphia on November 12, 1925, a son of the late John and Anna Gaspar. He was 86 years of age. Mr. Gaspar graduated from Mastbaum High School in Philadelphia. He served in the US Army during World War II. While serving in the European Theater he participated in the battle of Northern France and received the combat infantry badge. Mr. Gaspar was a US Postal Worker. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion in Philadelphia and of the US Postal Workers Union. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. He had a beautiful rose garden. Mr. Gaspar enjoyed spending time in the sun and loved swimming, going to the beach and fishing. He also enjoyed dancing. Mr. Gaspar is survived by his wife of almost 58 years, Rita (Schubert) Gaspar. Also surviving are his children, Thomas (Darlene), Carol Gaspar (Jeffrey Duffy), and Marie Boothman (Edward); his grandson, Ian, and his brother, George (Theresa) Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass, Thursday, July 19, 10:30 a.m. at St. Eleanor Catholic Church, 6th Ave. & Locust St., Collegeville, PA 19426. A viewing will be held at the church from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Thursday. Interment will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Phoenixville. Contributions in Mr. Gaspar's memory may be made to the Parkhouse Providence Pointe Residents Fund, 1600 Black Rock Road, Royersford, PA 19468. Condolences may be expressed at www.ruggierofh.com.
