Frances E. (Ford) Spina, 69, of Eagleville, Pa., died Friday, Nov. 16, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her family and friends. She was the wife of the late Anthony R. Spina and the daughter of the late John Ford and Lydia (Smith) and her late stepfather Charles Cameron.|
Frances was born in Norristown, Pa., June 15, 1943 and lived there most of her life except for growing up in Conshohocken, Pa.
She was a graduate of Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School, the class of 1961, and worked as an executive secretary with American Mail Systems, formerly of Montgomeryville, Pa. She was retired from that position.
She was a life member of the Harmonville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Fran enjoyed music and was a longtime fan of Jon Bon Jovi. She also saw every one of her son's shows with his band, Dog Bite Money.
She is survived by her son, Anthony Spina, husband of Lori, of Eagleville, Pa., and her daughter, Denise A. Spina-Staude, of Pottstown, Pa. She is survived by her four grandchildren, Brittany, Dawn, Adam and Jagger, as well as her two great-grandchildren, Alisha and Ava. She is also survived by her life-long best friend, Gail, and her husband, Vic, Battaglia, of Jeffersonville.
Along with her husband, parents and stepfather, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Ford, and a sister, Patsy Ford.
Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. from the Moore & Snear Funeral Home at 300 Fayette St. in Conshohocken.
Friends may call at her viewing Tuesday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be at St. Matthew's Cemetery in Conshohocken.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Harmonville Fire Company, 2100 Butler Pike, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.
