GENE A. JANDERCHICK, 65, OF DOUGLASSVILLE Gene A. Janderchick, 65, of Douglassville, PA, died on Friday, February 21, 2014 at the Phoenixville Hospital. He was the husband of Janet Elaine (Henry) Janderchick. Born in Pottstown, PA, he was a son of Eugene and Joyce (Raysor) Janderchick. Gene was a 1967 graduate of Boyertown High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a fork lift operator for over 30 years before retiring from the Mrs. Smith Pie Company in Pottstown. Gene collected and sold scrap. He enjoyed deer hunting and trips with his family to Rehobeth Beach, DE. Surviving in addition to his wife are: three sons - Michael J. Janderchick and his wife Angie of Barto, PA; Doug Smith of Pottstown; Jason Smith and his wife Carrie of Boyertown, PA; four Daughters - Becky, wife of Israel Soto of Douglassville; Bridget, wife of Nick Rakowski of Phoenixville, PA; Rebecca McGee of Lancaster, Jennifer, wife of Ron Ron McAlpine of Pottstown, PA; two Brothers - Terry Janderchick and his wife Joy of Birdsboro, PA; Kelly Janderchick and his wife Patti of Gilbertsville, PA; two sisters - Kathy, wife of Jim McPherson of Sanatoga, Cindy Heft of Gilbertsville, PA, 14 grandchildren- Bryant, Delaney, CJ, Braylin, Emma, Alina, Zack, RJ, Tytus, Connor, Tanner, Gabe, Nate and Michael. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kristi Janderchick and his sister Marlene Monroe. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service 11 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014 at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte Street, Pottstown, PA. Pastor Bruce Borgard will officiate. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown. A viewing will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family c/o Bridget Rakowski, 966 Black Rock Road, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
