Gilbert N. “Gil” Aitken Jr., 92, husband of the late Genevieve L. “Genny” (Lotz) Aitken, of Schwenksville, PA and formerly of Moorestown, NJ, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017 at his home. Born on September 26, 1925 in Moorestown, NJ, he was a son of the late Gilbert N. Sr. and Emilie (Thomas) Aitken. He was a graduate of Moorestown High School and Gettysburg College, where he met Genny. A veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy during the World War II. Mr. Aitken worked as a Purchasing Agent for RCA’s Department of Defense Division before retiring. He was a member of Church of the Epiphany Episcopal Church in Royersford, Pennsylvania. While in Moorestown, he and Genny were members of Trinity Episcopal Church. Gil loved sports especially baseball and basketball. A lifelong Philadelphia Phillies fan, he could be found watching or listening to almost every game they played. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends during summers where he would camp, fish and boat on beautiful Lake George, NY. Gil is survived by his three children: James G. (Naomi) Aitken of Charlottesville, VA; John A. (Geri Lynn) Aitken of Slingerlands, NY; Daughter, Susan C. (Ron) Lutz of Schwenksville, PA; Seven Grandchildren: Thomas (Erin), Emily, Tyler, Taylor, Olivia, Madeleine, Dawson; and two Great Grandsons: Declan and Nolan. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Church of the Epiphany, 209 South 3rd Avenue, Royersford, Pennsylvania on January 11 th , 2018 at 7:30pm. Burial will be held privately in Moorestown, NJ at the Trinity Episcopal Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Lake George Association, 2392 NY-9N, Lake George, NY 12845 or ..
