Obituary Condolences

HARRY N. ALDERFER, 91, FORMERLY OF STOWE Harry N. Alderfer, 91, formerly of Stowe, husband of the late Beatrice (Wise) Alderfer, passed away on Monday at Manatawny Manor. Born in Spring City, he was the son of the late Nathaniel N. and Stella Mae (Stufflet) Alderfer. Harry was a WWII Navy veteran. He was a former member of St. Peters UCC Church in Knauertown and attended Shenkel UCC in Pottstown. He worked at Pottstown Machine Co. for 20 years and Firestone Tire & Rubber for 20 years. Surviving is son, Harry E. Alderfer of Fort Washington; daughters, Barbara M. Greth, wife of Warren of Derwood, MD, and Joan M. Wetzel, wife of Joseph of Pottstown; sister, Amanda Varconda of Spring City; grandchildren, Ann, Gina, Donna, Jennifer and Joseph, and great-grandchildren Briana, Ciera, Mary and Matthew. Along with his wife and parents, he is predeceased by his sisters, Florence Evans and Ida Erb. A funeral service will be Friday, 11 a.m., at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown, with Rev. Bonnie Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
