HELEN S. PENCE, 78, OF NORTH COVENTRY Helen S. Pence, 78, devoted and loving wife of 53 years to Joseph E. Pence, Sr., passed away Tuesday morning, September 10, 2013 surrounded by her loving family in her home in North Coventry Township. Born in Downingtown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Edgar J. and Catherine (Gallagher) Souders. She was a graduate of St. Agnes Roman Catholic School. Helen found her greatest joy in spending time with her large family and attending her many grandchildren's activities. She also enjoyed trips to the casino, the New Jersey Beach, reading, and was a loyal Phillies fan. Helen will always be remembered for her kind spirit and selflessness, which was demonstrated by her willingness to always do for others. She will be immensely missed by all who knew and loved her. She was an active member of St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, where she served as Eucharistic minister, and brought the Eucharist to the residents of Manatawny Manor. Helen was a homemaker and she also worked as a custom drapery consultant for Sears and as a leasing agent for Highland Manor Apartments. Surviving along with her husband, Joseph, are her five children, Catherine wife of Howard Shawell; Cynthia Miller companion of Robert Elsas; Karen wife of Rick Nosia; Joseph Jr. husband of Nadine; Michael husband of Lori; 16 grandchildren, Christopher; Danny; Katie; Megan; Trey; Sean; Alec; Marissa; Miranda; Madison; Andrew; Liam; Madelyn; Jamison; Natalie and Ryan; two great-grandchildren, Barron and Giana, and soon-to-be born great-granddaughter, Mya. She is also survived by a sister Betty Cosgrove and five nieces. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dottie; nephew, Dickey and beloved Uncle Buddy (Joseph McNamee). Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 2101 Pottstown Pike, Pottstown, PA, on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius New Cemetery, Pottstown, PA. Relatives and Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 9:45 to 11:15 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, 2101 Pottstown Pike, Pottstown, PA 19465.
