HOMER VAIL WERNER, 86, OF BEAUFORT, SC Homer Vail Werner, 86, husband of Jane (Heyser) Werner, of Beaufort, SC, formerly Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Monday morning, September 30, 2013. Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late Homer Hagy and Frances (Vail) Werner. Mr. Werner was an avid fisherman, boater, and golfer. He served in the Merchant Marines and also in the United States Army during World War II. He was the owner and operator of the Werner Bus Company from the 1950s to the 1980s, retiring to the Jersey Shore to pursue his favorite activities full time. He was a member of the Phoenixville Lodge #75, Free and Accepted Masons, and was a member and life-member of numerous other community organizations. Homer and Jane relocated to Beaufort, South Carolina in the early 1990's to be nearer to newborn twin grandchildren, Haynes and Hannah. In addition to his wife of 65 years, Homer is survived by his sons, Douglas, currently of Philadelphia and Dr. Glenn Werner, of Beaufort, SC; daughters-in-law Lynn and Shea; grandchildren Timothy, Haynes, and Hannah; and his extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Homer Karl Werner. Homer was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend, who will be greatly missed. Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Morris Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10-10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you honor Homer's memory by making a contribution to the , which provides funds for vital research, family support and family services.
