Obituary Condolences

JOHN G. COPELAND, 90, OF POTTSTOWN John G. Copeland, 90, of Pottstown, PA, died on Monday, November 19, 2012 at Manor Care- Pottstown, PA. He was formerly married to Roberta (Bezanson) Copeland. Born in Albion, Kennebunk, Maine, he was a son of the late John O. and Frances (Higgins) Copeland. Mr. Copeland attended Toccoa Falls Bible Institute in Georgia. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an active member and former Captain in the Salvation Army, Pottstown and various other locations. John enjoyed bowling, Bible study and playing his trombone and tuba. Survivors include three sons, Michael J. Copeland and his wife, Carol, of Worcester, MA; Paul D. Copeland and his wife, Donna, of West Chester, PA, and Richard I. Copeland of Pottstown, PA; two daughters, Kathleen M., wife of Richard Arbour of Philadelphia, PA, and Lillian J., wife of John Bettenhausen of Oley, PA; one brother, Benjamin F. Copeland and his wife, Judy, of Maine; 11 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA. Major Fred Clarke will officiate. A viewing will be held from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Pottstown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army - Pottstown, 137 King Street, Pottstown, PA 19464.
