Obituary Condolences

KENNETH L. LANDIS, 83, OF POTTSTOWN Kenneth L. Landis, 83, of Queen St., Pottstown, husband of Joan D. (Dillman) Landis , died Sunday at Phoenixville Hospital. Born in Montgomery Co., PA, he was a son of the late Charles M. Landis and the late Stella V. (Dotterer) Landis. Mr. Landis first job was with Clover Leaf Dairy from 1942-1955, then he was a Tuber Operator for the former Firestone Tire & Rubber Co from 1955-1982, then worked part time for Yergey Moving Storage and a part time bus driver for CMD Transportation. He served in the Pennsylvania National Guard, was a member of First United Methodist Church, Pottstown,a member of Stitcher Lodge #254 F&AM, Pottstown, Pottstown Royal Arch Chapter #271, Nativity Commandery #71, Palestine Council #8, Phoenixville, Rajah Shrine, Reading, Tall Cedars #34, Spring City, and Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Reading. Surviving beside his wife is a son, Kenneth L. Jr., husband of Nancy Landis, Douglassville; two daughters, Kendra, wife of Daniel Waters, Gilbertsville, and Kerry, wife of Carson Kline, Pottstown; five brothers, Charles Landis, Pottstown; Richard Landis, Schwenksville; Robert Landis, Gilbertsville; William Landis, Pottstown, and Russell Landis, Gilbertsville; two sisters, Betty Weinsteiger, Pottstown, and Shirley Searfoss, Pottstown; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Walter Landis, and a sister, Doris Thornton. Funeral Services will be 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday from the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory 359 King St., Pottstown, with Masonic Services to start at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Reverend Karen Nuscher-Creasy. Burial will be in Limerick Garden of Memories. There will be a viewing Wednesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to First United Methodist Church 414 High St., Pottstown, PA 19464 or the .
