Levi B. Schmale Sr., 83, widower of Mary C. (Miller) Schmale, went to be with the lord on Saturday, November 3, 2012 while surrounded by family and loved ones in his Oley home. |
Born in Douglassville, he was the son of the late Walter and Bessie (Benfield) Schmale. Levi worked as a lifetime dairy farmer in Douglassville. Some of his hobbies included playing softball in his younger days with family and friends, attending auctions, speaking Pennsylvania Dutch, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Dodgers. He also liked to visit with his neighbors and watch the birds from his front porch.
Surviving are four sons, Levi Schmale Jr., Dennis Schmale, Barry Schmale, husband of Jayne and Donald Schmale, husband of Lynette; one daughter Patricia, wife of Kenneth Keller; five half-brothers; two half-sisters; six grandchildren Donald Allen Schmale, husband of Susan, Natasha, wife of George Sowers, Christopher Schmale, fiance of Kristyn Barbary; Joshua Schmale, husband of Stacy, Mary Keller and Megan Keller and two-great-grandchildren, Landin James and Sophia Mae Schmale.
He was predeceased by two brothers Leroy and Lester Schmale.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Morrell Funeral Home Inc., 124 West Philadelphia Avenue, Boyertown, PA. A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will in Oley Cemetery Spangsville.
