LINCOLN K.P. BUCHANAN, 92, OF SANATOGA Lincoln K.P. Buchanan, 92 of Sanatoga, formerly of Gilbertsville, went home to be with God on Monday, June 24, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Lewes, DE, he moved to Pottstown in 1935 and was a graduate of Pottstown High School Class of 1938 and Pottstown Business School. He operated the family farm and worked in the purchasing department of Bethlehem Steel Fabricating Shop, Pottstown for 38 years. Later he owned and operated an insurance agency for 17 years, retiring in 1989 on the family farm on which he had lived since 1940. During World War II, he served in the Army Medical Corps as a Medical Technician. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, American Theater Service Medal and Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with two Bronze Stars. He was a member of Zion's United Church of Christ where he served on Consistory as a deacon and elder. Other organizations to which he belonged were: Stichter Lodge No. 254, as past master and past secretary, Nativity Commandery No. 71, Pottstown Royal Arch Chapter No. 271, Red Cross of Constantine, Palestine Council No. 8, Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Reading-Past Thrice Potent Master, Past Officer and honorary 33rd Degree Rajah Shrine, Amvets Post 231, American legion Post 244, Elks Lodge 814, VFW Post 180, Life member of Upper Pottsgrove Fire Company, Gilbertsville Fire Company, Pike Township Sportsman Club and member of Travelers Protect Assn. He also served several years on the Zoning Hearing Board, Douglas Twp., Montgomery County. Lincoln is survived by his wife of 68 years Evelyn (Freeman). He was the loving father of four daughters, Vicki Kulp of Boyertown, Wendy Schoch wife of Darrell of Oley, Terri Buchanan Cranfill, wife of James of Oley and Kristi Brumbach, wife of Dean of Gilbertsville. He was the loving grandfather of Eric Hartman, Ryan and Jessica Brumbach and Joshua Shoch and great grandfather to Devin and Madison Hartman and Hayden Schoch. He was predeceased by his parents, four brothers and two sisters. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be private. There will be no viewing.
