LYMAN L. RHOADS, 90, OF COLEBROOKDALE Lyman L. Rhoads, 90, of Colebrookdale Township, died March 27, 2013 in Orwigsburg Center. He was married to Arline H. (Houck) Rhoads for 67 years before she died on September 21, 2009. Born in Bechtelsville, he was a son of the late William M. and Mable (Pennypacker) Rhoads. He served in the United States Army during World War II, stationed in the South Pacific. Lyman was a member of Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Boyertown. He was a member of Liberty Fire Company, Gilbertsville Fire Company and a life member of The Friendship Hook and Ladder Fire Company. He was employed by Beckerman and EdRu Shoe Companies for 30 years and also worked as an assembler for Boyertown Products for 19 years. Surviving are his son, Lawrence H. Rhoads, husband of Kay, Northampton, and daughter, Martha R., wife of Emery Delbo, Shoemakersville. Four grandchildren also survive him. Lyman was predeceased by his three brothers, Leon P. Rhoads, and twins, Lloyd Rhoads and Floyd Rhoads. Services will be Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in Good Shepherd UCC, 35 West Philadelphia Ave., Boyertown, PA 19512. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Boyertown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the choir fund at Good Shepherd UCC.
