Obituary Condolences

MARIE E. DIFFENDAL, 85, OF DOUGLASSVILLE Marie E. Diffendal, 85, passed away on February 5, 2013 in her residence at Hearthstone Amity in Douglassville. Born in Philadelphia, Marie was the daughter of the late Andrew and Marie (Distel) Ginnis. Marie was the wife of James J. Diffendal, deceased in 1985. In her younger years Marie was a homemaker and raised 10 children before working at Sears in Pottstown for 25 years and retiring in 1991 as head cashier in the Credit Department. Marie was a graduate of Little Flower High School in Philadelphia. Marie fulfilled a lifelong dream when she moved to New Smyrna Beach, Florida, where she lived for 18 years. Marie will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. She loved to bake, travel, play pinochle and push rummy, attend Little Flower HS reunions and anything Disney. Marie is survived by six sons, James, husband of Judy, Wyomissing; Dennis, husband of Debbie, Ivyland; Richard, husband of Sandra, Pottstown; Mark, husband of Patricia, Jenkintown; John, Phoenixville, and David, husband of Diana, Lititz, and two daughters, Jean, King of Prussia, and Marie, wife of the late Dallas Breidenbach, Pottstown. There are nine grandchildren, Jason, Jill, Julie, Andrew, Samuel, Matthew Diffendal, Erik, Michael and Nathan Breidenbach, and two great-granddaughters, Caitlin and Lindsay Diffendal. Marie is survived by a sister, Elaine Steindl, New Smyrna Beach, FL, widow of John, and a brother, Jerome Ginnis, husband of Kathy, Venice, FL. Marie was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan, and son, Gregg, husband of Kim, Washington, D.C. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St Aloysius RC Church at 223 Beech Street, Pottstown, PA 19464. The family will receive friends from 10:45-11:45 a.m. on Friday, February 8, at the St. Aloysius Church Gathering Center at 223 Beech Street Pottstown.
