Martha Neitz Obituary

Martha C. Neitz, 87, of Watsontown, Pa., passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 at Watsontown Health and Rehabilitation where she had been residing the past 19 months.
Born in Watsontown on Dec. 28, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Drew and Bess (Kramer) Weaver. She was married to Dale F. Neitz, Sr. for 57 years until his death July 2, 2004.
A 1942 graduate of Watsontown High School, she had worked at the former Montgomery Mills and retired from the former MacMillen's Men's Clothing Store, Watsontown.
She had served on the election board, the Watsontown zoning board, volunteered with Neighbors Helping Neighbors, and was a Cub Scout den mother. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed playing bridge with her friends.
She was an active member of Watsontown United Methodist Church where she had been Sunday school superintendent and sang in the church choir.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law: Dale F. Jr. and Cheryl Neitz, of Canton, and Dr. Danny W. and Barbara Neitz, of Royersford; four grandchildren: Shawn (Victoria) Neitz, Christine (William) Callahan, Stacey (David) Goover, and Andrew Neitz; five great-grandchildren: Shawn Neitz Jr., Charlene Callahan, Trenton Neitz, and Aurora and David Groover Jr.; a brother, Joseph (Jane) Weaver, Watsontown, and a sister, Helen (Robert) VanDruff, Brookville, Md.
Friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Brooks Funeral Home, 124 Main St., Watsontown. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Watsontown United Methodist Church, 1319 Eighth Street Drive, Watsontown with the Rev. Doug Eberly, her pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Watsontown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to her church.
