Miriam Ellis Obituary

Miriam F. Ellis, 96, of Pottstown Miriam F. (Fry) Ellis, 96, wife of the late George F. Ellis, of Pottstown, passed away on Wednesday at Chestnut Knoll in Boyertown. Born in Parkerford, she was a daughter of the late Rosa (Savage) Fry, and the late Clarence Fry. She had been employed for over fifty years at the U.S. Axle Company in Pottstown prior to her retirement. Miriam was also a long time active member of Zion's United Church of Christ in Pottstown; where she had served as a Deacon, Church Elder, and Sunday School Teacher, and on many various church committees over the years. She was also an officer of the Church Women United Organization of Pottstown. Miriam also enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, and spending time with her family. Miriam is survived by her children, Rosa Sechrist, wife of John, of Rochester, N.Y., Ronald Ellis, husband of the late Rose Mary, of Sassamansville, Julie Rhoads, wife of Dusty, of Boyertown, her sister; Geraldine Klink, of Pottstown, her brother; Herbert Fry, of Berwyn, eleven grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Peter Goguts officiating, at Zion's United Church of Christ, Hanover & Chestnut Streets, Pottstown, PA 19464, and to her visitation on Saturday morning from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown. Memorial contributions in Miriam's name can be made to Zion's United Church of Christ at the above address.
