MYRTLE K. STARR, 96, FORMERLY OF BOYERTOWN Myrtle K. Starr, 96, of Benton, IL, formerly of Boyertown, passed away peacefully at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Stonebridge Senior Living Center, Benton, IL. Mrs. Starr was born on January 10, 1915 in Boyertown, the daughter of Heister Spacht and Virgin (Kuser) Spacht. She married Leonard Starr and he preceded her in death in 1974. Myrtle worked at Drug Plastics in Boyertown, for 19 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of The Church of the Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Boyertown. Myrtle lived a full life and leaves behind her daughter, Sharon Linda Davis, and son-in-law, Hervey Davis, both of Benton, IL; three grandchildren, Ann N. Davis, Michigan City, IN; Alan H. Davis, currently stationed in Afghanistan, and Carolyn R. Davis, Benton, IL, and a great-granddaughter, Gianna S. Phelps, Benton, IL. Mrs. Starr was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Marvin and Mahlon Spacht, and two sisters, Arlene and Miriam Spacht. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick. Myrtle will be buried beside her husband of many years, Leonard Starr. Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Boyertown, is in charge of services. Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, IL is in charge of local arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Church of the Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, 35 West Philadelphia Avenue, Boyertown, PA 19512 and will also be accepted at Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, IL.
