RUTH GALLER, 93, OF POTTSTOWN Ruth Gladys Gross Galler, 93, of Pottstown, PA, and Pompano Beach, FL, died on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Imperial Point Medical Center, Fort Lauderdale, FL. She was the wife of the late Paul Gross and Israel Edward Galler. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Maurice Miller and Anna (Krasnick) Miller. She was a 1937 graduate of Pottstown High School and attended business school in Philadelphia. Ruth was a very positive person and well loved by many. She had a good sense of humor, enjoyed playing bridge and other card games. A Lifetime member of Congregation Mercy & Truth Synagogue, she was past president of the Jewish Women's League and headed the catering committee. She taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a former member of the Century Club and Brookside Country Club, where she played golf. Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Lynn Gross of Pottstown; one son, Gary Richard Gross, husband of Barbara Macy Gross of Boyertown, PA; one brother, Stanley H. Miller of Florida; one sister, Josephine Katz, wife of the late Dr. Aaron Katz of Pottstown; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and many friends. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Stephen H. Gross; her brothers, Howard Miller and Robert Miller, and her sister, Doris Borger. Friends may call from 12 noon - 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte Street, Pottstown. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Rabbi Daniel Zucker will officiate. Interment will be in Congregation Mercy & Truth Cemetery, Pottstown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Congregation Mercy & Truth Synagogue, 575 North Keim Street, Pottstown, PA 19464.
