Theodore Wills Obituary

Theodore Charles Wills, Sr., "Ted", 85, of Frederick, PA passed away peacefully July 20, 2017, following a long illness. He was born on May 11, 1932 in Middletown Twp., Bucks Co., PA, the son of Theodore A. Wills and Mary C. (Dixon) Wills.
Following his graduation from Schwenksville High School in 1950, Mr. Wills went on to graduate from the Philadelphia Wireless Institute. He was proud to be a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he served on a destroyer. He began his career as a plumber, and went on to become a mechanical contractor. He was the owner of T.C. Wills Co. Inc., and was also the founder and owner of Anchor Fire Protection Co. He was in business for 45 years until his retirement.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and all-around adventurer. He owned a sport fishing boat, the Pipe Dream, out of Cape May, NJ. He ran fishing charters, and participated in and won many fishing tournaments over the years. He loved to travel with his wife and friends. He was active in many organizations, including Ducks Unlimited, the National Rifle Association, Paradise Valley Hunting Club, Mumbauersville Gun Club, the Cape May Marlin and Tuna Club, and Associated Builders and Contractors. In his retirement, he became an avid woodworker and had a talent for making furniture and smaller pieces for family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Mary Teresa (Miller) Wills, who was his high school sweetheart. He is also survived by four children, Theodore Wills, Jr. (Debbie) of Perkiomenville, Marylou Lee of Frederick, Jill Stevens (Howard) of Allentown, and Jayne Oyler (Jeffrey) of Schwenksville; a son-in-law, Kevin "Pete" Ochse; ten grandchildren, Theodore Wills III (Diana), Meaghen Wills, Jessica Giuricich (Jody), Erin McCarthy, David Lee, Marshall Stevens, Morgan Stevens, Sydney Stevens, Annabelle Oyler, and Ava Oyler; three great-grandchildren, Carmella Giuricich, Oswald Giuricich, and Violet Wills; and best friend, Richard Mattaliano, who was always like a son to him.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Ochse (Kevin), and a granddaughter Chloe Oyler, and his sisters, Elizabeth McCotter, Molly Christman, and Audrey Wills.
He loved his wife, children, and family dearly, and they loved him dearly. Despite his success, he was always humble and knew the value of hard work. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, quiet generosity, and ability to make friends wherever he went. He will be dearly missed.
The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 40 Spring Mount Road, Schwenksville, from 10:00 – 11:30, with a funeral mass beginning at 11:30, and interment following at Limerick Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the Gary Sinise Foundation, which benefits military personnel and first responders.

Not sure what to say?

I was just sharing a story about Ted with one of my co-workers. I hope he knows the impact he had on me. Always humble and kind. I think of him often and thankful for the encouragement.

Not a day goes by that I don´t think of Ted. Some people are put in your life and impact it in positive ways. Ted was one of those people for me. Always kind and genuine. Thinking of Mary and his children as another year passes without their Husband, father and grandfather. Much love to you all.

I had the privilege of working for Mr. Wills on two occasions in the early days of my career. He was not only a boss but a wonderful man. His encouragement to do more and to be the best I could be was evident. To all of the Wills Family, Mary, Teddy, Debbie, I send my sincere condolences. RIP Ted. You will always be missed and never forgotten.

Please accept our deepest sympathies & prayers in your loss, Mary, of your beloved husband and Jill & Howard, your beloved father and father-in-law.
As my family reflects back on meeting Ted shortly after Jill and Howard were engaged, it involved many phenomenal times of dinners and holiday celebrations. Ted's obituary does describe him so clearly a quiet generous individual, A loving husband and loving father and always kind to his friends. We all remember visiting Ted's cabin in the cold of winter but yet there was always something fabulous cooking and we were all made to feel at home and comfortable including the little children .
Make God carry you home Ted on his wings as you so deserve. God bless. Love, Elissa, Joan, Trevor & Olivia
