THRESSIA L. NIXON, 74, OF POTTSTOWN Thressia "Goosie" L. Nixon, 74, of Pottstown, passed away on Sept. 11, 2013. Born Jan.1, 1939 in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late Walter R. Nixon and Corine M. Nixon. Thressia worked for almost 20 years at Penhurst Hospital in Spring City, PA. She was a member of the Church of the Living God in Pottstown where she served as a Trustee and sang with the choir. She was a former member of Mary Esther Temple # 917, Daughter Elks of Pottstown. Thressia loved to cook, crochet, knit and play pokeno. She won many contests for her cooking and recipes. Surviving to cherish her memories, her children, Reginald A. Nixon (Alice) of Baltimore, MD, Darryl R. Nixon of Pottstown, Keith L. Nixon (Kim) of Reading, PA., Troy A. Nixon of Pottstown, and Stephanie D. Nixon of Exeter, PA; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; brother, Walter L. Nixon of Womelsdorf, PA; sister, Geraldine Montgomery of Atlanta, GA; Also surviving, two special family members whom she raised, Sylvester Montgomery and Crystal Spearman; and Alvin and Frances Bell of Capitol Heights, MD. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 240 Mintzer St. Pottstown, PA. A viewing will be held from 9-11 a.m. at the church. Entombment will be held privately at the Highland Memorial Park. Uplifting Life Services are being arranged by the DeBaptiste Funeral Homes Inc. of West Chester and Bryn Mawr.
