VIRGINIA JOHNSON, 85, OF POTTSTOWN Virginia (Miller) Johnson, 85, formerly of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Sunday June 17, 2012 in her Pottstown residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Earl C. Johnson Jr. who passed away May 26, 1993. They were married for 49 years. Born in Nesquehoning, she was a daughter of the late Garrett and Lillian (Norwood) Miller. Virginia was a lifelong resident of Nesquehoning where she was a life member of Meed's United Methodist Church but resided in Pottstown for the past 10 years where she attended Shenkel United Church of Christ. She was a member of Lansford OES Chapter #123 and a member of Gnaden Huetten OES Chapter #203 of Lehighton. Virginia had many enjoyable years traveling with her husband, being involved with all church activities, delivering Meals on Wheels and most of all spending time with friends and family. Surviving are daughters Margie Spokas and her companion Kevin Herman of Jim Thorpe, Helen Guardiani with who she resided and her companion Erick Stiefel of Pottstown and Mary Fox and her husband Larry of Nesquehoning; eight grandchildren with whom she shared many memorable moments at the beach, camping, playing games and just being a wonderful Nana; 14 great-grandchildren whom she adored; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter Emma Sarah, a brother Norwood and a sister Betty Hazell. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 11 a.m. in Meed's United Methodist Church, 126 W. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, PA 18240, with Rev. John Charnock officiating and Rev. Bonnie Moore con-celebrating. Interment will be held in Sky-View Memorial Cemetery, Hometown. Call Thursday morning 9:30 a.m. until time of services in the Church. Contribution to the Glory of God can be made to Meed's United Methodist Church or Shenkel United Church of Christ, 1580 Shenkel Rd., Pottstown, PA 19465. The Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
