Obituary Condolences

Walter D. Maddona, 70, of Douglassville, husband of Nancy D. (Frey) Maddona, passed away on Friday at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys, Pa.
Born in Douglassville, he was the son of the late Coji and Elizabeth (Pinder) Maddona, also a stepmother Cora (Tillie) Maddona.
Walt was a lifetime member of South End Gun Club in Reading, the South Birdsboro Archery, Rod & Gun Club and the Keating Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid Corvette enthusiast owning a 1998 Pace Car, was a member of the American Dream Corvette Club and a lifetime member of the National Corvette Museum in Kentucky.
Surviving with his wife of 48 years are brothers Anthony and Andrew Maddona, both of Douglassville, Coji Maddona Jr. of Port Allegheny, Charles Maddona, husband of Holly, of Douglassville, and Frank Maddona, husband of Amy, of Boyertown; sisters Lena Miller of Douglassville, Jean Griffin, wife of Thomas, of Gilbertsville, Nancy Sciscio of Douglassville and Cynthia Maddona of Douglassville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Sandra Maddona.
A funeral service will be Wednesday, 11 a.m. at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 1020 E. Philadelphia Ave., Gilbertsville with Rev. Barry Moyer officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown. Visitation will be Wednesday, 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
