WILLIAM HARRISON ROGERS, 76, OF NORTH COVENTRY William Harrison Rogers, 76, of North Coventry Twp., PA, died on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Norma Jean (Shenk) Rogers, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. Born in Royersford, PA, he was a son of the late Blaine Rogers and Ethel (Isett) Rogers. Bill was a 1954 graduate of Royersford High School, a 1958 graduate of Ursinus College and received his Master of Education degree from Temple University. A long time health and physical education teacher and multi-sport coach, he started his career in Fairfax County, VA, where he taught for four years. He then returned to Pennsylvania, teaching at Daniel Boone for two years and then at Pottstown High School for 29 years. Coaching was an extremely important part of his life. He just completed his 55th year of football coaching. He has coached various sports for several school systems, including Fairfax County, VA, Daniel Boone, Pottstown, St. Pius X, Valley Forge Military Academy and Exeter Twp. School District. He was inducted into the Pottstown Chapter of the PA Sports Hall of Fame. In addition to coaching, he enjoyed woodworking, spending time at his Pocono cabin, traveling to football games and drawing caricatures of his family and players. Most recently, he was honored by the PAC 10 football coaches by having the Lineman of the Year award named after him. Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Drew Rogers and his wife, Tonya of Gainesville, GA; Dean Rogers and his wife, Sharon of Hershey, PA, and Doug Rogers of Annville, PA; two daughters, Allison Fake of Reading, PA, and Audrey Rogers at home; one sister, Shirley Rogers of Quakertown, PA, and 12 grandchildren. Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte Street, Pottstown, PA, and from 10-11:30 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2013 at St. Paul's U.C.C., 1312 Old Swede Road, Amity, PA 19518. A service to celebrate Bill's life will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Monday at the church. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Rev. Patrick Morris and Rev.
