Fay Christine (Vroman) Babel, 79, widow of George Frank Babel Jr., of Birdsboro, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011 in her residence.|
Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late Edna M. (Garber) and Frank Vroman.
Fay worked the counter at the former Bittenbender Food Market, Bechtelsville. She last worked as a clerk at Kennedy Ford.
She was a member of the Boyertown Senior Center and a former member of the ladies auxiliary of Earl Township Fire Company.
Fay loved the band called Majestics and she was a "Sunshine Girl."
She is survived by two daughters, Kelly R. Erkert, of Fleetwood, and Patricia Babel, of Birdsboro; two sons, Kenneth A., husband of Bonnie L. Babel, of Pottstown, and Randy S., husband of Kimberly A. Babel, of Boyertown; two sisters, Ruth "Boots" Fry, of Shillington, and Sandy Mutter, of Bechtelsville; three brothers, Frank "Pete" Vroman, of Fleetwood, Paul Vroman, of Boyertown, and Tommy Vroman, of Birdsboro; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Fay was predeceased by a son, Leonard M. Babel; a grandson, John Richard Smith; and a sister, Marge Young.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 21, 2011 at the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Inc., 111 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown. Rev. Burlington B. Latshaw III will officiate.
Relatives and friends will be received between 10 and 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Inurnment will be in Huff's Union Cemetery, Hereford, Berks County.
