Russell W. Baus, 86, of Oley, formerly of Gilbertsville, husband of Shirley F. (Himmelwright) Baus, died Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.|
Born in Boyertown, he was the son of the late Norman and Mattie (Weidner) Baus.
He served in the Army during World War II.
He worked at Williams Pontiac in Gilbertsville for many years, first as a mechanic and lastly as a used car manager.
He was a member of St. Joseph's (Hill) Lutheran Church in Boyertown and a member of American Legion, Charles B. Yerger Post No. 471 of Boyertown.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, boating, fishing and enjoyed fixing things all mechanical.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 48 years is one daughter, Julie A. Frederick of Boyertown; one son, Darrell R. Baus, husband of Tammy, of Oley; three grandchildren, Tyler, Haley and Miley; and one sister Erma Himmelwright of Boyertown.
He was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's (Hill) Lutheran Church, 244 Koch Road, Boyertown, Pa. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday morning at the church. Burial will be in Hill Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to St. Joseph's (Hill) Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 244 Koch Road, Boyertown, PA 19512.
