Elsie C. (Leidenberger) Skean, 100, got her wings to heaven on April 9, 2014 at Manatawny Manor, Pottstown. She was a former resident of Hanover Court Apartments until January 2014, and Maywood & River Grove, Ill., returning to Pottstown in 1983.|
She was born January 26, 1914 in south Pottstown to the late Martin & Rosella (Baker) Krause Leidenberger.
She worked as a computer operator for Chicago Title & Trust Co., retiring in 1980.
Elsie was a member of First United Methodist Church, Pottstown, West End Fire Company, New Hanover AARP, and Make Today Count Group.
Elise was always a friendly person and traveled around with her cousin Dorothy Aulenbach. They enjoyed many AARP trips and around town they were known as the Bobsy Twins, they were two petite well dressed ladies and well liked by many.
She is survived by many cousins and caregivers Robert Aulenbach husband of Helen, Kimberly Pfeffer wife of Kenneth, Kelly Behm wife of Michael. She was predeceased by her companion Joseph Pinto.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Friday from the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory 359 King St., Pottstown. Officiating will be the Reverend Robert Mitchell, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, Oley. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park. There will be a viewing Friday from 10:00 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
