Burton Douglas Gore Obituary
Burton Douglas Gore, 71, beloved husband of MJ (Bartholomew), passed April 7, 2014.
Born in Lansdale, he was the son of the late Burton I. and Beatrice (Grosse) Gore.
Surviving is brother Patrick of Earlington; and sisters Maureen Caufield of Sellersville, and Kathleen Twedt of Missouri.
He is predeceased by his brother, Ronald.
Best known as Doug, he spent most of his professional career in the hotel/motel and restaurant arena. Frequently cited for outstanding service to the community, he was honored as "Lakeland Man of the Year" in Lakeland, Fla., and elected to city council in Bar Harbour, Maine.
He was a founding member of his church and has served Crossroads in many capacities. From creating the atmosphere of fellowship that says, it's OK to comeback, to directing fund raising projects, or volunteering for whatever, Doug was happiest when he served.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of His Life and Memorial Service at Crossroads Presbyterian Church, 10 W. Cherry Lane, Limerick, PA 19468, on Saturday, April 19, 2014. Visitation is at 10 a.m. with the service at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Doug's name to Crossroads Presbyterian Church; or to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
