Nicholas David Berger, "Nick" passed away in his sleep, at his home, on the morning of Friday, April 25, 2014. He was 31.|
Nick was born on Dec. 23, 1982, in Pottstown, Pa. He was the son of Bonnie Savage of Harper's Ferry, W.Va., and David Berger of East Coventry Township, Pa. He was the step-son of Julie Turner of East Coventry Township, Pa.
He spent part of his childhood in Northern Virginia, until moving back to the Pottstown area in 1992.
Nick was a 2001 graduate of Owen J. Roberts High School. He was on the football team, an active member of R.O.T.C., and an agriculture officer.
Nick worked as a hunting guide in Wyoming after graduation. He returned home a couple of years later to work with his father in commercial construction. Nick loved hunting, deep sea fishing, football, nature, family, animals, movies and music.
Surviving in addition to his parents are maternal grandparents Peg and Byron Savage of Elverson, Pa.; one sister, Megan Berger of Denver, Colo.; one brother, Colin Dannenberg of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; one niece, Ella Johnson of Denver, Colo.; and one nephew, Camden Johnson of Denver, Colo.
Relatives and friends are invited to Nick's memorial service at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 2:30 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
