Dorothy "Dietz" M. (Scotti) McGonigal, 74, of Schwenksville, formerly of Jeffersonville, wife of the late William H. McGonigal, passed away Tuesday at the Phoenixville Hospital.|
Born in Norristown, she was the daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Dempsey) Scotti.
Dietz loved to crochet, go to the casino, and go out to dinner and socialize with her friends. She was an avid Phillies fan. Dietz worked at Streamlight manufacturing flashlights for 25 years. Prior to that, she was a homemaker.
Surviving is one son, William McGonigal, husband of Dorenna of Limerick; one sister, Patricia M. Cooper, wife of the late Francis of Maryland; four grandchildren, Daniel McGonigal, husband of Veronica, Jacob McGonigal, husband of Beverly,William and Patrick McGonigal; one great-grandson, Lukas McGonigal; daughter-in-law, Sherry of Gilbertsville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband and parents, Dietz was predeceased by her son Michael P. McGonigal; and two brothers Edward G. and William J. Scotti.
A funeral service will be celebrated Saturday May 31, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 329 N. Lewis Rd., Royersford. Interment will follow at Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9-10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
