Elizabeth A. (Myers) Lawrence Obituary
Elizabeth A. (Myers) Lawrence, 84, of Warwick Township, Chester County, wife of Richard H. Lawrence, died Saturday at her home.
Born in Johnstown, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Charles and Peggy (Varner) Myers, and raised by Ethel Myers. Mrs. Lawrence was a self-employed beautician before retirement. She was a very good artist creating oil paintings and murals. She made items out of porcelain and ceramic, which she then painted. She had taught classes in oil painting.
Mrs. Lawrence was a member of Schuylkill Chapter No. 338 Order of Eastern Star; Pottstown Art Guild; Boyertown Dance Club; and the Flower Club of Pottstown. She was well known for her beautiful gardens. She was also an American Red Cross volunteer. In addition, she was a volunteer for the USO, which is where she met her husband. She and her husband both loved to fly airplanes and go boating on the Chesapeake and Florida.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Sharon, wife of Fred Nettles, Boyertown, Connie L., wife of Dave Gantert, Fleetwood; one brother, Robert Myers and his wife Shirley, Florida; five grandchildren, Jennifer Schafer, Dallas, Texas, Scott Pilon and his wife Carolina, Ferndale, Wash., John Wadsworth, Douglassville, Richard Wadsworth, Douglassville, Anthony Vigone, N.J.; two great-grandchildren, Kysa Schafer and Sabreen Pilon.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2014, from the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, 359 King St., Pottstown. Officiating will be the Rev. Len Lewis. Burial will be private in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Warwick. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m.
