GLORIA F. OVERHOLTZER, 92, FORMERLY OF POTTSTOWN Gloria F. Overholtzer, 92, formerly of Pottstown, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 in Chestnut Knoll, Boyertown. Born in Kenilworth, PA she was the daughter of the late Horace V. and Alma May (Harner) Evans. Gloria was predeceased by her husband, Harry W. Overholtzer in October, 1995. She was a 1939 graduate of Pottstown High School. Gloria was Vice-President and Treasurer of the former Overholtzer's Radio and TV Store, Pottstown, which she co-owned with her husband and was the office manager for 40 years. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Pottstown where she was a Sunday School teacher, and a member of the LCW. Gloria was also a volunteer with the local Red Cross, former president of the Pottsgrove PTA, a library aide at Upper Pottsgrove Elementary and active with the Overholtzer family reunion. Gloria enjoyed traveling, cooking for her extended family, doing jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles and in her later years, playing card games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by daughters, Rebecca A. Nystrom and husband Per Olof of Sweden, Melinda G. DuVal and husband Robert of Pottstown; son, Harry W.,II and wife Janet of Shermansdale, PA; son-in-law, Kenneth V. Knopp of Allentown; sister-in-law Evelyn Evans of Douglasville; eight grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Gloria was predeceased by a daughter, Jayne E. Knopp; sisters, Bertine Gross and Eileen Wells, and a brother, Horace "Juke" Evans. Services to be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2014 in the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home, 359 King Street, Pottstown. A viewing for family and friends to be held 10 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home. Interment to follow at Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown.
