BENJAMIN F. WOODLAND III, 64, OF CHESTER SPRINGS Benjamin F. Woodland III, 64, husband of Lorraine (Shanaman) Woodland, of Chester Springs, PA, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at home. Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late Benjamin F. Jr. and Lucy (Windolph) Woodland. Mr. Woodland was a 1968 graduate of Downingtown High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Woodland was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Chester Springs. He enjoyed turkey and deer hunting, fishing, and classic street rods. He loved his time spent on his tractor at home and in the mountains, and was truly happy helping others. Mr. Woodland had a very close connection to his family and friends, and much joy was brought to him through his nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. In addition to his wife, Mr. Woodland is survived by two sons, Nathan B. and Nevin R. Woodland, both of Chester Springs; one sister, Peggy, wife of Alan Leach and their children Eric Leach and Kristen Luhr; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 1239 Clover Mill Road, Chester Springs, PA 19425 on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Ronald P. Wesemann. Burial will be held privately in the St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Chester Springs. Friends will be received at the church from 9-10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the ALS Association, Greater Philadelphia Chapter, 321 Norristown Road, Suite 260, Ambler, PA 19002 or to the St. Peter's Lutheran Church at the address above.
