James F. Koren

Obituary Condolences

James F. Koren, 55, husband of Ann Koren, of Gladstone, Missouri, passed away December 5, 2010, at North Kansas City Hospital.
James was born in Pottstown, PA. He lived in Kansas City since 2007 and previously lived in Grosse Pointe Park, MI, and in Centerville, VA.
James worked for the Department of Labor for 32 years, currently serving as District Director of the Wage and Hour Division. He was a 1973 graduate of Pottstown High School and a graduate of King's College. He earned his Master's Degree from the Catholic University of America. A devout Catholic, James was a founding member of the Msgr. Ernest Fiedler Council #14489, Knights of Columbus. He lived an active lifestyle and enjoyed traveling with his wife and family. His father, Francis J. Koren of Pottstown, preceded him in death.
In addition to his wife of 31 years, James is survived by his son, Timothy, of Washington DC; daughter, Katie Marfori, wife of Carlo, of Washington, DC; mother, Dolores Koren, of Pottstown; brothers, Kenneth Koren, husband of Ruth of Norristown; Gerald Koren of Exton; sisters, Christine, wife of Robert Love III, of North Coventry; Diane, wife of David Bodolus, of Douglassville.
A viewing was held at the McGilley Antioch Chapel with a Mass of Christian Burial at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Kansas City, MO. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Catholic Charities Appeal or King's College, Wilkes-Barre, PA.
