LEROY E. HOUCK, 89, OF BARTO LeRoy E. Houck, 89, of Barto, husband of Anna Marie (Ritter) Houck, died Tuesday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Upper Pottsgrove, PA, he was a son of Wayne F. Houck and Florence (Endy) Houck. He worked for Bethlehem Steel in Pottstown in the layout department for 30 years. Then he worked for 13 years as a groundskeeper at Boyertown Junior High East. He lastly worked for Passmore Service Center as an assembler. LeRoy served in the army during WWII. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Boyertown. LeRoy was a life member of Friendship Hook and Ladder Fire Company and Pine Forge Sportsman's Club. He was a member of the Boyertown Senior Center, AARP, American Legion, Charles B. Yerger Post#471 and the PA & Berks school retirees. He was a former member of Spunktown hunting camp. Surviving in addition to his wife of almost 70 years are three sons, Ronald L. Houck, husband of Jill E. of Boyertown; Randall L. Houck, husband of Stephanie A. of Boyertown, and Bruce W. Houck, husband of Diane L. of Barto; one granddaughter, Kimberly; five grandsons, Bradley, Derrick, Shayne, Douglas and Ryan; two step-grandsons, Cody and Kyle; one great-granddaughter, Brittany, and one great-grandson, Joey. He was predeceased by one brother, Harold E. Houck. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Morrell Funeral Home Inc., 124 West Philadelphia Avenue, Boyertown, PA. There will be no viewing. Relatives and friends will be received from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the funeral home on Monday morning. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 45 North Reading Avenue, Boyertown, PA 19512 or to Boyertown Midget League, PO Box 34, Boyertown, PA 19512.
