Mary (Thurchak) Pelko, 94, widow of Michael J. Pelko of Sanatoga Ridge, Pottstown, formerly of Boyertown, passed away Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 in her residence.|
Born in Mahanoy City, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Anna (Straty) and Steve Thurchak.
She was a machine operator/folder for over 10 years at the former Brown Sentry Knitting Mill in Pottstown. She was a member of St. Columbkill Roman Catholic Church, Boyertown. Mary was also a member of the church Altar Society.
Mary is survived by a son, Ronald M., husband of Doris M. Pelko, of Boyertown, a daughter, Joan A., widow of Melvin G. Fern, of Phoenixville, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Lorraine S. Gaugler. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Steven, Andrew and Michael Thurchak, and her sisters, Jennie Baranko, Susan Navitsky, Julie Wasaline and Anna LaBauda
A Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 at St. Columbkill Roman Catholic Church, 200 Indian Spring Road, Boyertown. The Rev. Marty Kern will officiate.
A viewing will be Tuesday between 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in St. Aloysius (New) Cemetery, Pottstown.
Arrangements are being handled by the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Inc., 111 North Reading Avenue, Boyertown.
